The future of Thohoyandou Titans Chess Club looks bright, with 94 members and still counting.
‘The club welcomes everyone and its youngest member is a 7 year old,”says Bradly Muavha, founder and director.

Most members come from the nearby University of Venda but the club is open for all. Senior citizens from different communities regularly attend tournaments, creating a unique mix of students, working class and elders around the board.
Since its inception in May 23 2026, the club has remained committed to providing quality Chess education, hosting monthly tournaments, mentoring young players and creating opportunities for people from all backgrounds to discover their full potential.
Chess is more than a board game- it’s a powerful educational tool that develops critical thinking, discipline, confidence, leadership, patience, and problem solving skills.

Every move on Chessboard teaches an important life lesson. Before making a move, players learn to think ahead, analyze situations, consider consequences, and make responsible decisions. These are the same qualities needed to succeed in education, careers, business, leadership and life itself.
The Club is currently hosted at a sponsored venue- Nando’s Venda Plaza, the partnership gives players a safe, central space to meet.
