In rural Vhembe, talent isn’t a problem. Opportunity is.
At Magona village, Malamulele, a group of U19 rugby players are chasing dreams on dusty ground. No grass, no posts, no sponsorship. Under the leadership of Mr Jack Maluleke, the club is keeping youth off the streets and building discipline, one practice at a time. But without a proper field or support, those dreams are running out of space.
As these boys gather on that dusty patch of land, they train, tackle and believe that one day they will have kits, funding, and a proper ground to call their own.
A lot of youngsters who want to join are left discouraged before they even start.
“I was a rugby player when I was at Varsity, and when i came home to my village, i decided to revive it “– Mr Maluleke, Magona Rugby Club.

The challenge is real, without proper fields, players risk injury. Without equipments, development is slow. Scouts rarely come this far and talent gets missed.
This week Vhembe Explorer asks: Who will answer the call to support Magona Boys?
This is not luxury. It is the minimum needed for our Boys to train with dignity.
To Business and Organizations in Vhembe:
These Boys are your future players, leaders, and community members, give them a chance, a dream. Invest in them.
