Farm biosecurity involve protecting lifes of farm animals this includes following vaccination,deworming,diping, selection of good genes for farming and preventions micro organisms from entering the farm by disinfecting instruments after use, cars that are entering the farm and farm personel when they enter the farm
It goes further and includes sterilisation of farm worker clothing shower in and shower of farm worker and every personnel that enters the farm
Vaccination all animals that are in the farm should be or already vaccinated against disease, some disease clinical signs my be sedden death like pulpy kidney in goats a farmer must have strict vaccination program for lamb,kid and calve and all older animals
Dipping plays a vital role to limit external parasites like ticks and flies strict dipping program my help to limit tick and flies borne disease like heartwater and pink eye
Summer dipping we use oil based dip winter plunge dip or spray dip
Commercial farm place a notice at the gate that warn the personnel that enter the farm to follow the outlined rules that can help to limit disease and microorganisms to the farm
Animal houses place a role in good biosecurity animls must be placed according to the stages, age or pregnance and genders this help to limit competetion when feeding them which may lead to mortality.
Selection of good animals for farming include checking history of parents, age,defects that the parents have like bad mothering abilities, check length,height , udder, teats,testicles, age, weight accourding to age from birth weight to current, medical history all this help to for a farmer to select good genes for his farm he or she must continue avoiding inbreeding that can cause mortality and reduce size of animals
Biosecurity is essentials for good sustanable farming good biosecurity implementation helps to increase profit
